Junior Game Creators – After School Code Club

Introducing a new computer science after school club – Junior Game Creators: where code meets the creative arts.

This is a new club for Abel Smith School where children in Years 4, 5 and 6 can discover how to become a creator of apps and games, rather than just a consumer of them. This club will teach the basic skills of app/game creation, coding and de-bugging.

The company offering this service has been running the club with maximum attendance in a number of schools for over 3 years. Some of you may also have attended their workshops that they have been running during the school holidays.

The 12 week course will be run by ‘Junior Game Creators’ and will consist of 1 hour per week (3.20-4.20 pm on Mondays) starting with relatively simple ‘scratch’ coding, but extending to more complicated projects that the children build from their own plans.

The cost will be £78 (£6.50 per week) and places are limited to 15, Junior Game Creators will maintain a waiting list for following terms so they can handle demand and ensure everyone with interest can take part.
